Welcome to FUVICREF
FUVICREF is a nonprofit organization that provides education to rural women and girls in Sabana Grande de Boyá in the Dominican Republic. In particular, we offer support and monitor care in the area of reproductive health among the population of pregnant adolescents, including preventive health education. We work with youth to adopt a broad awareness of what it mean to be "healthy" in terms of physical and emotional health.
Vision and Values…. Vision: Establish mechanisms to provide health and educational integrate our community. Achieving the highest levels of health with preventive medicine, including mind, body and spirit. Values: Responsibility, Respect, Humility, Integrity, Dynamism, Forbearance, Sincerity, Aptitude, Attitude, Trust, Truth and discipline, among others, including being human beings full of love and respect for one's self and for others. Our Objective To give back to our community and provide our community professional health care and in order to achieve a better quality of life for the people of Sabana Grande de Boyá and the surrounding areas. Giving Program The communities we serve are from the poorest of the surrounding bateyes (plantation communities), , who have limited access to clothes, toys, and medicines, food and education, among other things. We coordinate with community leaders in the different communities with which we work in order to distribute appropriate donations. We gathering information from each of the families living in the bateyes and the more impoverished ares of Sabana Grande de Boyá in order to give them what they really need and distribute it equitably. FUVICREF coordinates visits to different bateyes every three months by the promoters, in order to make delivery of donations such as clothes, toys, food, school and also guidance on hygiene, health, prevention of common diseases in the community and as caring for their environment.
